Dr. Rong received his B.S. degree in 2005 and his Ph.D. degree in 2011, both from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He continued his research at USTC as a postdoctoral researcher until 2019, when he was promoted to the position of Professor in the School of Physical Sciences at USTC. Dr. Rong has published numerous scientific papers in influential journals such as Science, Nature, Nature Nanotechnology and PRL.

1) Quantum simulation: non-Hermitian Quantum Physics
2) Quantum sensing: searching for new physics with spin sensors

In this project, students are encouraged to learn the basic knowledge of experimentally initializing, manipulating, and reading out a single spin system. They are also expected to learn how to perform quantum simulation and quantum sensing with solid-state-spin systems.

Students with strong motivation and interests in experimental quantum physics and quantum information processing.
