Dr. Zheng earned his Ph.D. degree from National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (NSRL) in University of Science and Technology of China in 2013. He subsequently joined in the operation team of the photoemission end-station at BL10B beamline in NSRL as an engineer. During his study at photoemission end-station, Dr. Zheng developed multiple high-resolution in situ soft X-ray spectroscopy techniques for various interface research, and further established an in situ characterization platform combining SRPES, sXAS, and FTIR. Based on the innovative works in spectroscopy technique development, Dr. Zheng obtained the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars and became a professor in 2022. Dr. Zheng published numerous scientific papers in influential journals including Nat. Energy, Nat. Commun., Adv. Mater., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., etc.

1) Advanced in situ X-ray spectroscopy and synchrotron radiation experiment methods.
2) Dynamic reaction behavior monitoring and mechanism exploration in photocatalysis.

In this project, students are expected to learn the basics and experimental details of multiple synchrotron radiation spectroscopy techniques, and be guided to maximize the advantages of synchrotron radiation spectroscopy for photocatalysis mechanism study.

Students with strong motivation and interests in synchrotron radiation spectroscopy or photocatalysis.
