Our research primarily focuses on using smart materials to address significant real-world challenges, particularly those related to surface/interface issues and soft robotics. We have previously utilized liquid crystal polymer materials to control surface/interface friction properties and develop soft robots. Related papers have been published in top-tier journals in the field.

The topic that students will be involved in during their internship include smart materials and surfaces with switchable adhesion and friction properties. Practical applications using these dynamic surfaces will be investigated.

Students with background in material science or mechanical engineering are welcome.
