Biography:
Professor Xiaochu Zhang is currently the Principal Investigator (PI) of the Cognitive Neuropsychology Laboratory in the School of Life Sciences at the University of Science and Technology of China. He is the recipient of the Changjiang Scholar Award by the Ministry of Education (2022) and the “Hundred Talents Program” of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2012). Currently, he serves as the vice president of the Anhui Mental Health Education Society, the vice chairman of the Asian Association for the Study of Substance Abuse, and holds positions on the special committees of many national-level relevant societies as well as the vice chairmanship of provincial-level relevant societies. He also acts as an academic editor for three SCI/SSCI journals. His research achievements have been included in the global expert consensus on brain stimulation. The team led by him, as the corresponding author, has published 65 SCI/SSCI papers, among which 10 (with 3 on the cover) have an Impact Factor (IF) greater than 9, and 25 have an IF equal to or greater than 5. These papers were published in high-level international journals including Nature Human Behaviour, Brain, Advanced Science, Biological Psychiatry, Neuroimage, Human Brain Mapping.

What You Can Expect in the Project:
Project: Explore the neural mechanisms of high-level cognitive functions (such as emotion, decision-making, craving, etc.) by using neuroimaging methods (EEG, fMRI). Mainly participate in the early data collection related to the project, computational demonstration and the writing of papers.
Desired skill and background:
Those with a psychology major from overseas universities are preferred.
