Biography:
Dr. Liu received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside (2017). He subsequently held postdoctoral positions at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2018-2020) and at RIKEN, Japan (2020-2023). Since 2024, he has joined the High Magnetic Field Laboratory at the Hefei Institute of Physical Sciences as a professor. His research focuses on the theoretical study of topological spin textures, non-equilibrium charge/spin transport/dynamics, and their implementations in device applications.
Research Interest:
1) Theory and simulation of topological spin textures
2) Machine learning-based micromagnetism
What You Can Expect in the Project:
Students are expected to learn the basics of magnetism and spintronics and contribute to the development of new theory/software for condensed matter physics research.
Desired skill and background:
Students with strong interests and motivation in theoretical/computational condensed matter physics.
